WHAT IS THE AISC
SIMPLE BRIDGE CERT?
The AISC Simple Bridge Certification is a specialized qualification within AISC's fabricator certification program. It is distinct from the standard AISC Fabricator certification and is specifically required for shops fabricating structural steel for simple-span bridges on highway, DOT, and other transportation infrastructure projects.
To earn this certification, a fabricator must demonstrate compliance with additional quality standards, including material traceability, advanced welding procedures, certified inspection personnel, and documentation practices that meet bridge fabrication requirements under AISC's Standard for Steel Bridges (ANSI/AISC 206) and AASHTO/AWS D1.5 Bridge Welding Code.
